Weekly Snapshots

1. Nymeria is officially one of the family, she was adopted last week and will live with my grandparents.

2. Murderface is in the Christmas spirit.

3 & 4. I had my Going Away/Christmas get together over the weekend with #teambaddecisions, I decided to channel my inner Carrie Bradshaw with an extra poofy tulle skirt since I doubt I'll be dressing up much in Kanab. Can't believe I'm moving in less then a week! Still so conflicted about it.

5. Went to a baby shower and finally got to play in a photo booth with my love and my friends. 

It's almost Christmas! I can't wait!

Lost in the Desert...

I've never been to any of the dry lake beds near Las Vegas and I've been wanting to check them out before booking photo shoots there. I dragged my friend Eva out to the nearest one in Boulder City (she was bribed with Starbucks and free pictures) to check it out. Most of the terrain is tore up due to quads but later on I passed a section that seemed remotely flat. 

It was hot, desolate, and windy. Totally a great place to do some shoots at. I'm hoping to organize one soon!

May Playlist

It's the last day of May and I just remembered, I never did a playlist for this month!

First up, I have to give some local love here. 

This is Meg. She's the lead singer for Ministry of Love, a local Vegas band. I can't say that she's a close friend of mine but we do run in the same friend circles and we've had a few passing conversations. Regardless of being acquaintances, she's such an amazing person. She's a great singer, she's only 28,  she's super cool, and did I mention that she survived cancer? 

Meg found out she had thyroid cancer last year, right when MoL was really starting to make a dent in the music scene. There was a chance that she could not only die but never sing again if she had the tumors removed. I remember seeing her updates on Facebook while in the hospital and I swear on my life, she was so damn positive about it. I don't think I could have been half as strong as she was if that had been me. Luckily the surgery was successful and Meg has been cancer free since December 19th. Our local magazine, the Las Vegas Weekly, just did a huge article on her and her story and you should really check it out.
