This one feels just right...

Welcome to my brand spanking new blog, Mocha Fox! Before I started Mocha Fox, I ran two other blogs. The first one I can't even remember the name of but it revolved around wedding planning and my life with my then fiancé. When the wedding fell through and I became a single lady, I scrapped it and started a new one.

That one was called Sasta which some of you (if you followed me over from there) might remember. I'm Irish and I love the Gaelic language even if I don't understand it and I remember looking through Gaelic words and finding the one that means happy which was sasta. My entire life was starting over again and all I wanted was happiness, I clung to that word as my new identity. Sasta lasted for a few years but it never seemed to fit. I thought, wrote, posted. Constantly. It never really seemed to come together.

I spent, and I'm so not kidding about this, a few sleepless nights thinking about scrapping my blog. It just didn't feel like me anymore, didn't feel fun. Then I realized that I needed to once again start anew. Not because of any huge change in my personal life but because if I'm going to write and share my thoughts, passions, dreams, and heartaches with the world then I better do it on a blog that feels 100% authentic. How can I feel comfortable to open up, to have others critique my work, when I'm not even comfortable in my own blog space?

Therefore, Mocha Fox was born. I spent quite a bit of time thinking this one through. Why Mocha Fox? Simple. I love foxes and I love white chocolate mochas. I love the earthy forest thoughts that come to mind when you say it aloud. Plus, my original idea of Photo Fox was already taken. So Mocha Fox it is.

I won't lie and say I completely 100% know what my voice and direction of this blog is. What I do know is that I love photography, animals, my family, my boyfriend, pretty things, music, cooking, and a hundred other different things so I should have plenty of ideas and I'm confident that eventually my voice will speak for itself.

Welcome to Mocha Fox.

  3. I just recently found your last blog, meant to leave a comment, but well, I sometimes tend to get lazy with commenting... Anyways, just wanted to say how excited I was to find a blogger who lives in Vegas! And loves all things British. That makes you pretty awesome in my eyes!

  4. I do have a blog, but I'm only just starting, so I'm still working on the layout and all that stuff. And also kinda waiting for life to get a bit more interesting than it is now! I should add that I'm actually moving to Vegas sometime after the summer, so it's not weird if you check out my blog later!
